Speaking of editors' spawns, I've just recently discovered a new fascination with the Roitfeld family. Carine, editor-in-chief of French Vogue, has always caught my eye. Her smoky-eyed-just-rolled-out-of-bed-heroin-chic-look fits her really well. Her face is a little rough and wrinkled with signature bushy eyebrows, but somehow she manages to make it look good...always. Her daughter Julia, who by the way graduated from Parsons, has been gifted with the Roitfeld genetics and sense of style. Who looks better...mother (54) or daughter (26)?

Whatever you want to call him, there is only one Marc Jacobs. I used to be pretty obsessed with his clothes, always going straight to his section in neiman marcus whenever I came home for my monthly garden state plaza mall fix. Recently however, my love for his designs and his quirky-ness in general has kind of...vanished. Thankfully, the french film director Loic Prigent teamed up with Marc and Louis Vuitton and created a documentary that brought the old Marc Jacobs back. Even though he no longer sported the big glasses, greasy long hair and oversized clothes, his hilariously genius character was once again alive. As he once said, "Happy, happy fashion - there's not much more to it than that".

This morning was a sad morning. I turned on my computer, clicked on safari and up popped my homepage of style.com. Big white bold letters jumped out at me and said "altered states - marc jacobs' joyful american mash up". In other words, Marc Jacobs' new Spring '09 show was up for 

viewing. Lets just say that I think I need to watch the documentary on him once more because I'm back where I started. Chubby Marc, please come back.

i'm not going to lie. Justin Timberlake showing at Fashion week again kind of made me laugh. just like every other celebrity putting their name to a line that some underground designer slaved over and ends up getting no credit for. For Justin Timberlake, that designer is Trace Ayala. Their line is William Rast and I always associated it with ugly jeans and stupid logo tees, but this season was actually........ really......goooood.

Another thing they're doing for William Rast is a movie to promote the label...starring none other than Erin Wasson. This seasons collection definitely looks like it was inspired by her effortless fashion sense that never fails to look amazing. It also reminded me of Freja Beha Erichsen's rough grunge look.
